Keeping it Simple

Today’s Post by Mark Toal

For the past few months I’ve been fortunate enough to have access to every Panasonic camera body and lens that they make including all of the new cameras that were recently announced at photokina.

I’m not complaining but as you’ve read in my blogs you know that the reason I like mirrorless cameras and the Micro Four-thirds format is that it’s small and simple. Having all these cameras to use has made me think about what I would choose if I only had one body and lens? For me it’s the Panasonic Lumix GX85 and G Vario 7-14mm f/4.0 ASPH lens is an easy choice.

I choose the GX85 for it’s small size, great in-body stabilization and lack of an anti-alias filter. I love this camera. The 7-14mm lens has been my favorite since the day is was announced. It’s light and small and f/4 is fast enough for a lens that wide.

Now if you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you also know I love Infrared so I’m going to bend the rules and also use my infrared converted Lumix GX7 with 7-14mm lens. I’m headed to Bozeman, Montana and the Eastern Sierras, which should be a perfect test for my camera/lens choice.
