A few of my favorite things: JB Designs Wooden Grips

Today’s Post by Mark Toal

It’s that time of year when you need a present for the photographer in your life (or maybe just yourself.) This is the first in a series of posts about my favorite accessories. I don’t mean ones that I admire or that people told me that they like, but ones that I use every day.

I’ve written about the JB Design grips before and have had one attached to my Lumix GX85 since I bought it over a year ago, I was recently at the Photo Plus show in New York where I finally got a chance to meet JB. Everybody at Panasonic knows how much I love the grip and they brought him over so we could finally meet. He showed me a new GX85 grip made of Padauk Wood, which is very red/orange in color and I had to have one. Now they are also making matching hot shoe covers.

The look and feel of the JB Design grips is perfect. The fact that they are made out of wood is just icing on the cake. The Padauk Wood grip that you can see in the photo with my GX85 is the third and probably not last JB Design Grip that I’ll buy. They make them for a lot of different mirrorless cameras. Check out their web site to see if they make one for your camera.
