When to Shoot Mirrorless Video?

Today’s Post by Mark Toal

Maybe I’m just a little slow learning new things but when it dawned on me that a subject is meant to be video if it’s moving and a still photo if it’s not moving, video got a lot easier for me.

I’ve been a still photographer for a long time and still photography just comes naturally to me. When I started shooting video I just couldn’t figure out what worked best for video vs. still images

A good example is this video of Adrianna for Fathers Day. I had no idea what I was going to shoot as a video until I asked Adrianna what was her favorite thing that she wanted to show me. The trampoline shot worked so much better in video and the portraits worked better as stills.

Next time you’re out shooting watch for movement and press that video button on your camera.
