They say it’s your birthday, well its my birthday too…”— John Lennon & Paul McCartney
Today’s Post by Joe Farace
On Sunday I’ll be celebrating my birthday and while it’s not one of those “milestone” birthdays, instead it’s just a happy day that I’m glad to share with all of you.
Not only is my birthday during National Photo Month but I share the same birthday (not necessarily year) as Mr. T, Al Franken and the late Raymond Burr. Also cosmonaut Anatoli Semyonovich Levchenko was born on the exact same day as myself, which I guess is my minor connection to space exploration, a longtime passion of mine.
Now straddling geezerdom and the wisdom that comes with old age, I want to continue to use this blog to share some of the useful photographic tidbits and tips that have helped me over the past years. And these days that means shooting with mirrorless cameras, the use of which has breathed new life into my lifelong obsession with photography.
This blog is a team effort, starting with the inestimable help of the one and only Mark Toal, without whose assistance it wouldn’t have even been started. I’d also like to thank the kind people who have contributed guest posts, especially Barry Staver and Jamie Zartman, two immensely talented photographers and all-around great guys who always responded when I asked for their help. Special thanks also goes out to the continued and oft-poetic work of Mildred Alpern whose beautiful tulip images graced this blog earlier this month.
Lastly, I would like to thank all of you for reading this blog; it is truly a labor of love for all of us. And a BIG thank you goes out to the readers who responded to my request for (another Beetle’s song)
