4K Photo Event with Mark in Portland on May 9th

Today’s Post by Mark Toal

4K photo example v2 Ken Long from Westcott lighting and Mark Toal from Panasonic will be at Pro Photo Supply in Portland, Oregon on Saturday, May 9th demonstrating 4K photography. Have you wondered what all the talk is about 4K video? 4K refers to the video resolution which is four times the size of HD that we use now.

The huge benefit of 4K to still photographers is the ability to take a single eight-megapixel image from the video and use it online or to make prints. In other words you are capturing 30 eight-megapixel images per second. Think of what this can do for sports, portraits, children, pets and other types of photography where it’s hard to capture a subject that won’t sit still.

4K final for blog Ken will be demonstrating the type of constant lights that you will need to do this in a studio and Mark will be showing how to use the Panasonic Lumix GH4, FZ1000 and LX100 to capture the images using a live model. Bring an SD card or a USB drive and take some images home with you.

This is an open event so stop in anytime between 12 and 4pm on Saturday, May 9th.
