Shot with an Olympus Pen E-P3 and Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12mm f/2.0 lens then processed in Tiffen’s Dfx software. The Rays filter adds shafts of streaming light and is found in the plug-in’s Light collection.

It only includes one preset but the sliders are intuitive and easy to use. This real-life gondola photographed in the Anderson-Abruzzo International Balloon Museum in Albuquerque takes on a fifties sci-fi vibe when the Rays filters is layered with the Agfa APX 400 film emulation.

The interface for Tiffen’s Dfx Digital Filter Suite encourages layering of effects more so than any other effects plug-in I’ve tried because it’s just so easy to do. I wanted to use the Rays filter with this image but could not leave the plug-in before adding one of the film effects. The interface lets you compare the original to the filtered version.
