Today’s Post by Mark Toal
In the winter whenever I need to test a new lens or camera I head to the World of Speed Museum in Wilsonville, OR. It gives me an excuse to see the great selection of cars while I stay dry shooting photos.
My goal was to test the high ISO quality of the new Panasonic Lumix GH5. I decided I wanted to shoot with a different view this time so I packed the Lensbaby Fisheye for Micro Four Thirds. The Lensbaby Fisheye is circular fisheye and in the case of Micro Four thirds camera it crops a little bit off of the top and bottom of the frame. If you stop the lens down to an aperture of f/5.6 or smaller your depth of field is almost infinite so manual focusing is easy. I love the feeling the lens gives of looking through a snow globe of holiday ornament. At $299 this is the best deal on a sharp fisheye lens that I’m aware of.
I almost forget my ISO test results. This image was shot on the Lumix GH5 at ISO 3200.
