Today, as large cumulus clouds began building, I thought I would try to get a few shots with my friend, the claret cactus. However, as you will see, the weather began to change…

Here, I am about three miles from my turnoff at Palisade to the cactus, and shot from the freeway

No white clouds this afternoon; The cactus takes it all in stride.

I decide to hike up the hill to look around

I see an interesting rock with a hole and another claret in the distance; I get very low, and there it is!

My disgruntled selfie…but I enjoyed every minute
