Today’s Post by Mark Toal
It’s that time of year when you need to get a Christmas present for the photographer in your life—or maybe yourself. This is a series of blogs about my favorite accessories. I don’t mean ones that I admire or people have told me that they like, but ones I use every day.
When I travel I like to have a small tripod to carry in my suitcase, mainly in case I want to shoot video. Video looks best when it’s stable and with a small tripod I can set it up on a table or even a car hood.
Since I don’t use a tripod very often I wanted something that was inexpensive, light and sets up quickly. I came across an orange MeFoto Backpacker Classic and it had every feature that I was looking for in a tripod and at a great price.
There are a lot of great small tripods out there to choose from. Two of my other favorites are made my Sirui tripoids , which I wrote a blog post about last year.
All of these tripods are great for traveling and easy to carry with you. You can’t go wrong with whichever one you choose. I own all three. These small tripods work great with small Mirrorless cameras like my Panasonic Lumix GX85 or GH5.
