May the Fourth Be With You

So the Emperor turns to me and asks, “So what kind of digital camera should I get Darth Vader for his Birthday?” And so I says, “Mirrorless, of course.”

Happy Star Wars Day

If you don’t know a Wookie from an Ewok: Star Wars Day is an unofficial holiday in May which celebrates the Star Wars franchise and is observed by fans of the movies. The date was chosen for the easy pun on the catchphrase “May the Force be with you” aka “May the fourth be with you”.

In 2011, the first organized celebration of Star Wars Day took place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the Toronto Underground Cinema. Since 2013, Disney Parks have celebrated the holiday with several Star Wars events and festivities, which is where the above image was made.

As part of Star Wars Day, I created the stop motion video using pieces from the LEGO Star Wars Droid Escape (9490) set that I built. I was shot with a Panasonic Lumix GH4 and Lumix G Vario 14-45mm f/3.5-5.6 Asph. Mega O.I.S. lens.
