Little Things Mean a Lot

Mark’s Photo Tip of the Day: Pay attention to the details.

It’s so easy to get lost in our own thoughts or looking at our smartphone that we miss a lot of the amazing small things in the world. I was sitting outside at a favorite coffee shop when I noticed the skulls on the rims of the bike parked nearby. I loved the red brakes that contrast so well with the black and white rims.

The back of the sunflower photo was taken as I took a morning walk along with my Panasonic Lumix GX8 (See Joe’s First Look for more information about this camera.)

On this day, I had the Lumix G 20mm f/1.7 II ASPH. lens attached to the camera. I saw light coming through the back of the sunflower as it turned to face the morning sun. I had never noticed the white fuzz on the back of the flower since I’m normally taking the photo from the other side. And that’s why I created the above image.
