How I Photographed Jennie And Nick

Today’s Post by Mark Toal

A few weeks ago at the WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographer) show in Las Vegas I ran into Jennie and Nick posing in the Sigma booth. In the past, they have posed for Panasonic at trade shows and Jennie can be spotted in Sigma posters in your local camera store.

I had been looking for another studio scene to try out the 6K Photo Mode on the new Panasonic Lumix GH5. Each frame of 6K video is 18 Megapixels so I’m essentially shooting 30 frames a second of continuous focus 18MP images. I borrowed a Sigma 30mm f/1.4 Micro Four Thirds mount lens, set the camera to 1/320 sec shutter speed and asked Jennie and Nick to move around as the fan blew her hair.

I shot about five seconds of 6K video in the 6K Photo Mode and grabbed this frame on the cameras LCD and then used Wi-Fi to transfer it to my iPhone.

Trust me, in a 20×30 inch print you can count every eyelash.
